If you have attended any seminar or webinar where Internet Marketeers talk about their lists, you will have heard the phrase “The money’s in the list” many times and, as with any business, that is a truism. I have heard many Marketeers giving a figure that each member of their list is worth $1 a month to them so you can see that a list of any size can bring you in a reasonable income.

With the use of a reliable auto-responder, you are able to keep in touch with every member on your list providing them with informative and interesting posts on the topic for which your list has been created and on a regular and guaranteed interval.

Deciding what to provide to your list is also something to be considered as you can provide them with regular single articles containing relevant information and tips on either a daily or bi-weekly which your list will enjoy.

To get people to sign up to your list, many people use a short course of 5 or 6 articles containing a few paragraphs on the list topic and you would send these out for 5 or 6 consecutive days so they get used to expecting mailings from you.

One type of online publication especially favoured amongst IM’s is a regular e-zine newsletter on either a bi-weekly or monthly basis where you provide a number of articles about your list topic and possibly even insert some form of affiliate offer of a sales page for a product you have developed. There is even a thought nowadays that you should now send these out weekly to retain your members especially in a popular niche.

The main reason for your list is to enable you to build a relationship with the members and the Internet is a great place to do this. Keeping in touch with your list by developing this relationship on a regular basis and creating a bond with your list creates loyalty and trust which will ultimately lead to sales and, with continued nurturing, repeat sales from this relationship.

So to build a business creating you an income on the Internet will require you to create your list, develop your relationship with your listee’s and nurture them to be good customers on a repeat basis.
