Solo ads are where you pay another marketer to post a mailing to his list where he guarantees to give you a certain number of click throughs to your site or offer. Anyone who does click through can then become part of your own list if they give you their name and e-mail address.

Solo ads are similar to classified ads in e-zines, but you have a whole e-mail to get your offer across to the reader rather than just the 6-8 lines that you get in

So what is in it for the other marketer? Well as you are paying for the mailing, he gets his money up front and as long as he delivers the click throughs he has promised then he gets to keep it all. He gets his money quicker this way than through an affiliate link and the amount is guaranteed.

And why should you consider buying a solo ad? Well they are a very good way to build your list quickly and, if you have high value offer that converts, you will be seeing income very quickly.

OK, you have taken the decision to run a solo ad so how do you make sure that it is succesful?

As these are posted out to the marketer’s list, the first thing that the reader will see is the subject title so you need a killer headline to get them to open the e-mail and see what you are offering. This is where your copy writing skills come in to play or, if you have the money, you employ someone to create great copy for you and make your solo ad investment pay.

There are many different companies offering these solo ads to marketers so you need to research carefully and not just go for the cheapest option.

The cost of the ad is usually related to the size of the list to which it is being sent, for example $15 gets you access to a list of 419 whereas $199 gets you access to a list of over 380,000. You also need to check that the list to which your ad is being sent is related to the product you are offering as it is not worth sending a Make Money Online offer to a weight loss list as the click throughs will be minimal,if any at all!

So, in conclusion, solo ads can be a great way to build your list quickly as long as you use the right marketer at the right price for you.

I have not used this type of service myself, but would be happy to hear from any of you who have in the past and what were your experiences of solo ads? Please use the comments box below!

      Brilliant post Dave, thanks.

I’ve never tried using Solo Ads before but it does seem like a very good way to get your list started, and fast!

You talk about producing a ‘Killer Headline’. I for one would be very interested in any future post that you write about this and I have a feeling I wouldn’t be alone!

Great looking Blog with some fantastic information.

      Cheers

I have bought solo ads already and it can be a great way to get some highly targeted traffic to a squeeze page.

However, you need to be careful from whom you are buying them. Best is to check the seller’s background in the specific Facebook groups and Skype channels and then start with a small test package of 50 clicks to test them out.

There can be a huge difference in the quality of the traffic received.

Also you need to be aware that oftentimes a solo ad isn’t really a dedicated email sent out to a marketer’s list. In too many cases the clicks are coming from generic emails and run through a click rotator serving different advertisers.

Another thing to pay attention to is to check that the clicks are really coming from email traffic. Sometimes you will receive funnel clicks, which is fine as they usually convert well, and sometimes even exit clicks, which is almost useless.

Nevertheless, solo ads are a great way to grow your list quickly, but by all means, do your homework before you buy a larger amount of clicks to not waste your money on them.

      Cheers,

      Hi Dave,

I have try solo ads few times and didn’t have much from them… I did get the promised clicks, even over delivering but low conversion and no sales. I don’t know if it is just my bad luck or higher force but I must say that I have paid for the squeeze page, provisionally done, try 3 different source for solo ads and after i have show them my results ALL of them told me the same thing: I really do not know what happen, I have never received such poor results”. Coincidence or?

      Hi Dev,

Solo ad is a good system and rather the quickest way to build one’s list. The problem is in choosing the right sellers who can provide the list of hungry buyers. If you have a better understanding with the solo ad seller, you can certainly get good result which is basically the reason for failure of new solo ad marketers.

I think we in P2S should follow the system if John where everybody will promote everybody’s product. In the process we will be using every other person’s lists that are more reliable and authentic.

      Regards,
      Manoranjan
